430 question
I know it was a T-Bird option and a SO option in the passenger car line but has anyone seen or know of a 59 (or even 58) that had an
MEL 430 fitted in a Skyliner from the factory?
Just one of those things you think about...

MEL stands for Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln. The squarebirds got them so they could run NASCAR. None were ever sold in Ford brand pass. cars. Did you know there was a 430/400hp w/3x2's available in L-M's? There is a 58 2dr post base model Merc 400hp,w/3sp on column running in the F.A.S.T. races. Very cool.....
