I love all the pictures of the beautifully restored/cared for Skyliners. This is not one of those. At the moment, I have the engine torn down since it was completely seized in every conceivable manner and I've replaced the gas tank and rebuilt the suspension. The top also works, except for one motor that needs rebuilding. This is going to take some time. A quick total of what it's going to take just to put the engine back together again (not make it actually run) is almost $1000, and that's if I can salvage the block and the valvetrain.

Good luck with the restoration. Many of the beautifully restored Skyliners started out looking like yours or worse. I'm sure a lot of us would enjoy seeing "in progress" pictures, so post those too!

Hey Breadbox,
I always dreamed of owning a Skyliner and here's what I ended
up with in 2007.

It now runs and drives (at least in the driveway), the top works very well (by jumping the solenoids ) and I hope to have it on the road by this summer.
It's virtually rust free (most of it's life in California of course) and came with most
everything needed to put it back together. It won't be a show car but a nice driver
that I'll probably always be improving and tinkering with.

Trying to figure out how to embed the photos. Maybe I got it!

And the 8 year later.
Maybe doesn't look much different but the dash and interior are mostly done
to include all new flat glass and weatherstripping (a real bear).

It's going to take a long time before it's nice again, but it's a nearly complete, numbers matching, 2 owner car (that sat since 1967), and it has a mostly working top and a solid floor. Here's it's current state. Right before the engine came out, the garage I'm renting was broken into and all my SAE tools were stolen. I've replaced enough that I can keep working, but now I'm at a slight handicap. Sorry about the blurry picture.
