    Generator to Alternator conversion

    Hi,
Has anyone done or is anyone thinking about converting from a generator to an alternator? If so please give me your experience in the matter as I am debatign about making the change.

Does anyone know about this person who makes the alternator fit into your generator housing? Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I have done that conversion many times. If you are looking for added dependability and reliability, especially if you drive your car alot, it is well worth the effort. An alternator charges at an idle, whereas a generator does not. As far as the gener-nator, i have no experience. Good luck.

I have done the conversion on my 58 and I really like it but the generator light does not work. Mine is a single wire alternator. I understand you can get one that the generator light still works.
