    1958 lower fender attachment point

Hi, I removed the front clip from my 58 retractable last month,(with awesome help from this forum). To that end, I found bad rust at the lower door pillar and cowl. The rocker has been repaired as well.(poorly) I am trying to find some good pictures of the lower door pillar area, so I can fabricate a new piece. I know they make a repair piece for this area, but it doesn't show me how the fender attaches. There is nothing left on the fender either. Maybe a picture of the lower cowl without the fender attached, and a picture of the lower part of a fender off a 58 will help me greatly. If someone has some pictures from a restoration, that would be great as well. If anyone can please post some pictures, it would help. Thanks in advance....Paul

    Here's one

but probably not a good angle

With the fender on at least it shows the bottom attachment point

    The fender

and where I had to take care of some rust behind the bracing
near the bottom. I felt lucky that was the worst of it.

Here's the special J-nut/clip/cage nut (whatever it's called).
I only had one and had to fabricate something for the other side.
Of course I found the other one later in a coffee can of misc.that came with
    this basket case.(Rrrrrr)

Can't post more than 4 photos so it's in the next post

    Hey Ford Only,
Thanks for posting the link to your pics!
Looking at photos can be invaluable to seeing how something goes together,
especially if you didn't take it apart in the first place.

Just wanted to say thanks to 58Skyliner and Ford Only for the pics. They were exactly what I was looking for. Both of my lower door pillars are completely gone. These pictures will be a great help in fabricating some new pieces.........Paul
