    Power steering problem / question

My '58 is almost ready, after a year long restoration. The power steering is spewing fluid out of the reservoir cap vent hole. Nothing was done to the system during the resto except a new set of hoses from Concours Parts. Of course, immediately upon start up, one of the brand new hoses (going to the ram) exploded. After clean up and another start up, it's blowing fluid out the cap vent. Any ideas? Anyone? The pump does make some moans and groans, but I can't imagine what would cause the fluid to exit the system in such a way. Thank you for any help, advice or ideas. Gary (knee deep in power steering fluid).

    Hello Gary

Sounds like you got air in the system, when the engine is idling just turn the steering wheel slowly to the right and left. You must turn it to the stop at right and left, a couple of times. If you’re lucky this will fix it. You also need to let it sit for a while after doing the bleeding then, then try it again.
