    57" Dome light Part 2

I've been told that the Standard dome light for the 1957 skyliner was one that screwed in however the one I have and have been looking to replace has 5 clips (slot Cilps?) and clip to the roof. How many of you that have 57 have ones that clip in? screw in? any one know which one they came with? and or where I can get a clip in one?

    thanks

I looked at my original dome lamp today. The housing is screwed to the roof panel with a screw on either side of the housing. I did not take if off, but the lens is retrained by the housing and not clipped in a manner in which the lens can be removed without taking the housing off. The housing also includes a on/off switch.

There were two different dome light housing used in 57's. There were not as many clip type used. If I remember you can replace the clip kind with the kind with 2 screws. The problem is the ones the dealers sell does not have the switch. They are for a 59. I have used them in some cars. Ron Brenton
