    Correct 4 bbl Carb 57 312

The 4 bbl carb that was on my 57 312 has no tag and I am trying to ID it.

Can anyone please tell me what the correct 4 bbl carb is and how to ID it? Should I rebuild it or replace it?

    Thanks,
    TM

3 different carbs were used on 57's. Holley, Carter and Autolite. first year new models for all three manufactures. Holley should be stamped List 1272 on the air horn. Carters have a metal tag attached and Autolites had #'s stamped on the base plate. The metal gas lines are very different for the 3 different ones. I have 3 57 Skyliners each has a different factory 4bl on it! Send more info and i'll try to help.
    Good luck,

    Thanks Ron,

Mine is supposed to have a Holley. Its at the engine shop so I can't look at the stamp to see if it is correct.
Do you know the correct Holley model that should be on a 57?

    Thanks,
    TM
