    Deck lid moving very slow

My deck lid has started moving very slow, either opening or closing. The motor is running, there seems to be no other motor running so there isnt a "conflict" going on. I am puzzled why the motor seems to be running normally but the lid is barely moving. Mechanically it doesn't make sense to me because if it were needing lube, you would think that it would be laboring. I though I would see if anyone has ever had that problem. I am going to start by pulling off the drive cables and making sure they are both turning, and go from there.
    Thanks in advance.
    Bob.

It sounds like the voltage to the motor is low causing it to run slower than normal. The slow action in both directions makes it appear that the problem is with the motor ground circuit because the supply voltage is coming from two different solenoids (deck lid raise and deck lid lower). I would check the ground connection from the motor to the body to see if it has become corroded or is loose.
