    Remove light switch knob 1959

Who knows how the light switch knob comes off? the others on the dash have a set screw, but not the light switch. So, don't want to try and 'unscrew' or pull off if anyone already knows. thanks!

    Hi,
If memory serves correct when I replaced mine it wasn't just the knob. I think it came with a shaft molded to it. You have to get the whole thing.
    Good luck

My 1957 Ford manual shows the light switch having a "spring release button" on the top of the switch housing (about in the center of the terminals that protrude upward from the housing). The manual states that you remove the control knob and shaft by pressing the spring-release button on the switch housing with the knob in the OFF position. Turn the knob/shaft slightly and then pull it out of the switch. I assume that the 1959 switch would be very similar.

    Good Luck,
    Dave
