broken threads on front windshield screws

    Hello!

I am new to the forum after "coming into" a 58 352CID skyliner! it is in pieces right now and am focused on getting it started/running (started today) and getting the top assembled and operational.

I started rebuilding the front windshield transmissions today and for the most part things went ok (I am following the Utube videos from Nick Keilen). When I tried to drive out the bearing and screw from the transmission only the Screw came out!).

Anyway, now that things are cleaned up a bit I am noticing that the the first 1/4 to 1/2 turn of the threads on the locking screws is sheared off. Is this a problem and if so is there a source for new locking screws?

    Thanks in advance!

    Ken

Ken, just saw your post. Not the best situation if some of the threads on the locking screws are sheared off. Replacement locks are available from private sources. Haven't seen any in catalogues. Call me if you still need one. Bill, 402-213-3427.
