    voltage regulator

I want to replace my voltage regulator but the are sold as 30amps 35amps and 40amps. Does anyone know what voltage the original generator output was.

I looked in the Ford master catalog the standard generator would be 30 amps, the heavy duty used with AC would be 35 amps.
It would be hard say what is in your car now as far as the generator size but either the 30 amp or 35 amp regulator should work.
I could find no reference to the 40 amp generator used in Fords older than 1960 & the case is longer on a 40 amp generator.
After looking at the page again I did see that the 40 amp generator was available as early as 1956 but I have never run across a car older than 1960 with one.
I have seen them (40 amp generators) on Ford products 1960 to 1964.

Thanks for the reply. I pulled the old one off and the part number indicated it was 30 amp
