Sounds like you have a project. Welcome to the flip top club.
Make sure the two pieces are lined up square. Start in the middle of the roof and using the palm of your hand wack it into place. it will snap in and work your way tothe outside making sure the two...
the luggage tub clips to the front with tabs on the floor of the trunk. On the back are two wing bolts that thread into the cover of the spare tire. No bolts to the floor just wing nuts to the...
good luck with the repair. From the pictures it appears that there is much corrosion that has eroded the metal. Hope there is enough metal for the brazing rod to bite on to.
Dennis Carpenter Ford Parts should have what you need. The 57-58 parts are pretty available from him.
Should not make any difference. You need to check the offset of each wheel and make sure that you have two that are the same and that when installed do not cause clearance problems to the fender or...
Congratulations. All of the adjustments on the electrical switches are touchy. It is the sequencing that is difficult to adjust properly. Sounds like success.
got the check valve installed?
Glad to hear it.
my '59 with a 352 and a fordomatic had 3.09 gears. Might want to check the rear end for a tag. Should be under one of the third member studs.
With my 59 it really makes no difference. Easier to get into with the top down though.
I've not had a problem either way.
The door margins get a little tight with the top down when on the frame lift.
Doors still open fine though.

Be careful that you get the correct size. The ones that Carpenter sells are too fat to fit properly. I found an o ring that was fuel resistant at the local Ace Hardware. Much petroleum jelly on...
Wills is correct. Adjust the automatic choke to stay further closed to richen the A/F mixture. Make sure that when the engine is warm the choke is completely open.

all 4 switches need to operate in order to allow the retract jacks to work. I am thinking you need an adjustment there. A little time with the wiring manual will get you there. Typically it is the...
Good luck with that. More than likely you will need to resurface the flange where it meets the head caused by warping from brazing. Let me know how that goes.
I like your car.
Do you have the Ford manual on the wiring for the retractable top? That will tell you what sequence (top, middle, bottom) of the switch controls the top retract motor. Has your wiring been tampered...
I did not realize you were jumping the solenoids to operate the top to unlock. If the screws turn off when retracting the A switch is fine. If the top lockdown screws operate by the normal controls...
Not much to them to rebuild. Usually clean out the dried grease and relube. I've not seen the gears strip. There are bushings in the endcaps that could wear but I don't think those are in the...
The A switch under the sail panel controls the top screws. An adjustment here might help. Might be a pinched wire as I had the same problem.
