Thanks Dave. I've tried to go through that process step by step as you described. And IIRC, I've had some success in the past. This time however, I keep getting a message that there is an error......
Thanks for your input olddave. No big secrets going on here; I just needed to share email addresses in order to send a decent pic of my interior trunk lid. I'd have posted the pic here but for some...
Fnixon, sent you a P.M.
I think you're probably right about that. I don't recall ever seeing a Skyliner with the Canadian style trim that was sported by other Ford models of that era.
That's fantastic... Congrats! I hope it gives you miles and miles of fun. And lots of those special times when you're not going anywhere; just running the top up and down for the dazzled spectators....
The way I see it, none of us really own them. We're just stewards, taking care of them for someone else to enjoy down the road.
I did not know Everett White but I would be willing to bet he'd be...
Can't help with your quest but good luck! Nice looking car... welcome to the Skyliner Forum.
Thanks Fnixon! (This site really could use a 'Thanks' button) I think your explanation makes sense. And the fact that the regulator is new casts even more suspicion in that direction. So many new...
Link to that (cheesy quality) video. The nonsense regarding the luggage space starts at 07:00 or so.

Here is the '57 Skyliner brochure you mentioned. (IF the link works, you can click on the lower left panel). http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/ford/57sky/57sky.html
You're right, at that time they...
Lesson learned is my guess.
You may possibly be able to take a little slop out of it by tightening the tolerance of the steering box. Small 1/4 turn adjustments at a time.
Been a while since I've done any of that and never on...
Hello chucklutz and welcome to this forum. Interesting story about the development of the Skyliner top mechanism. I've heard that before but hadn't seen that particular pic... cool! Wonder what...
Andrew Dice Clay's '57 Skyliner worked by remote control in the movie, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.
I'd post a clip but the dialog is rated R... or worse.
No idea about any retractable techs in Ontario. I do know that trying to figure out stuff from just the shop manual is difficult at best.
This thread has a link to some videos that were done by...
Thank you for the detailed response!
And now... back to the original subject: 14 inch rims, free for the cost of shipping.
Nice of you to offer that. Hopefully someone will want the 14s.
If you don't mind, I'd like to change the subject slightly... How do the 15 inch rims fit clearance-wise, and what vehicle are they...
Thanks for that info! Gonna try those next time around.
I agree with running some extra PSI in the rears. I don't remember what the total weight-shift comes out to between top-up and top-down, but...
This is the chart I used when I bought my tires. https://www.cokertire.com/blog/tire-size-cross-reference
I believe the conversion info is as accurate as possible. As I said above though, there...
Welcome to the Skyliner forum Bill.
I'm running Coker Classics P215 75R14 with 2-1/2 inch white wall. When I bought them (in 2010), they were the closest thing to 'correct' in size and WW width...
